From the world premiere of Price Point at Sketchbook in June to the start of our Help Desk mentorship in July. From the launch of our new website in August to our debut at the new Links Hall in September. Out of Site appearances in August and October, our MCA debut during CDF’s 10th anniversary in November…what a year! Thank you all for coming on the journey with us and helping us forge a world where interdisciplinary performance and activism intersect with/enrich us all!
However, the capstone of our 2013 was our Price Point performance-and-workshop weekend in Kansas City,MO in mid-December (12/13-12/15/2013). New relationships, new resources and renewed energy are the gifts we received during our Charlotte Street Foundation-sponsored Price Point weekend as part of the group exhibition, ‘We’ll Make Out Better Than Okay’. Thanks to the hustle of curator Danny Orendorff, the teams at Charlotte Street/ the historic Gem Theater and the support of the Radical Diva Grant we were awarded from Clump (NYC), we made the 75-minute flight from Midway to “KCMO” a couple weekends before Christmas. Not only did we perform Price Point to enthralled audiences but we conducted a public workshop where we shared foundations of our generative process. In return we witnessed a showcase of vulnerable, creative, loving souls engage our process and share their own beautiful/poignant performances with us—over 20 people, all within four hours! Of course, no trip to KCMO would be complete without 2 things– BBQ & Jazz (shouts out to Gates BBQ & the Mutual Musicians Foundation for bringing the heat, respectively)!
Bottom line, we met several kindred spirits in Kansas City and look forward to more visits this year!
